With Windows 10’s official end-of-life just around the corner on October 14, 2025, it’s time to get serious about what that really means—and what steps you need to take to upgrade to Windows 11 (if your machine is eligible).
In the coming issues, I’ll break down what “end-of-life” actually entails, how to check whether your hardware qualifies, and guide you through the safest upgrade paths. Let’s get into it.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen a surge of Windows 10 users rushing in to upgrade to Windows 11—trying to fit it into their already packed workdays and busy lives. The challenge? Not every computer is eligible for the upgrade.
Microsoft’s new hardware requirements include minimum standards for your RAM, CPU core count, and TPM Security Chip (used for BitLocker encryption). You don’t need to understand all the technical details, but it’s important to know whether your system meets these benchmarks.
While RAM and processors can often be upgraded, the TPM chip is built into your motherboard and can’t easily be replaced. There are ways to bypass the requirement, but doing so can compromise system security.
If any of this sounds overwhelming—don’t worry. That’s exactly why we’re here. Bring your computer by, and one of our techs will evaluate your system, explain your options clearly, and help you choose the best path forward.
If your current system can’t handle the upgrade, we’ve got you covered. We carry both new and professionally refurbished laptops, all backed by our in-house warranty to give you peace of mind.
Need your data moved over? No problem. We offer basic and advanced cloning/transfer options so you won’t lose a beat. Most upgrades and data transfers can be completed same-day or next-day, depending on our workload and when you drop off your device.
